  • Life isn’t about finding the answers, it’s about asking the questions

  • “The cure got boredom is curiosity. There is no cure for curiosity.” - Dorothy Parker

  • “You have to bring the idea. Because you’ve got nothing else.” - Lew Wasserman

  • The very best doctors, detectives, generals, coaches, and diplomats all share the skill of being able to think about the world from the perspective of their rivals. You can’t simply design your strategy, then execute it and wait to see what happens so you can respond. You have to anticipate what’s going to happen—by first disrupting your own point of view

  • Using curiosity to disrupt your own point of view is almost always worthwhile

  • The feeling you’re trying to convey—the hospitality, the warmth—is much more important than following any particular rule

  • “Curiosity will conquer fear even more than bravery will.” - James Stephens

  • Listen to the no. There is information in the resistance

  • People who ask questions are rarely thought of as stupid

  • People prefer to choose to do things rather than be ordered to do them

  • People are more likely to consider a piece of advice, or instruction, if they’ve asked for it in the first place

  • Familiarity is the enemy of curiosity

  • To be a good manager, you need to understand the people you work with, and if you’re doing all the talking, you can’t understand them

  • When you know more, you can do more

  • Curiosity is the state of having an open mind
